EX Maturity Path - check it out now
When I was co-writing Employee Experience by Design - How to create a Compelling EX for Competitive advantage, I got to work with some incredibly talented EX pioneers around the world. Not only were they doing a great job of putting EX on the agenda and delivering on some lofty EX goals, they were also incredibly generous with their time and experience.
When the book was done, it felt too soon to say goodbye. That's why my co-author Emma Bridger and I created the EX Design Club. It is like a mini lab to collaborate and create.
We're delighted to share the results of our first collaboration – the EX Maturity Path. This is a visualisation of how organisations develop and execute on employee experience goals. And how that changes over time and as they get more, well, mature.
While different organisations will approach EX in different ways – size, culture, history, resource and operations all have an impact – there are some common steps on the way to a more transformational approach. Many of these reflect a human centred design approach (which we talk about in the book).
We've captured these common steps across four dimensions:
Focus
Mindset
Involvement
Impact.
And we’ve plotted them on three levels of maturity: Forming, performing and transforming.
